Led by Professor Susan Young, an internationally recognized expert in the field and author of the ADHD Child Evaluation [ACE} and ACE+ for adults, this training provides a one day introduction to both assessment tools. ACE is a semi-structured clinical diagnostic interview that aims to support healthcare practitioners in the assessment and diagnosis of ADHD in children. ACE+ assesses ADHD in adults. These interviews assess the core symptoms of ADHD in childhood and adulthood and the extent to which they impair functioning. Additionally, the interviews prompt the assessor to consider the presence of alternative and/or co-existing conditions.
ACE is currently available in 17 languages and ACE+ in 7, with more translations underway. Several international validations are in progress. Both ACE and ACE+ interviews include algorithms for the practitioner to select either DSM-5 or ICD-10 criteria. In collaboration with Braingaze (www.braingaze.com), the ACE/ACE+ interviews are currently being developed into a web-based tool (in English).
The training has an interactive focus and will include an introduction to ACE and ACE+, an overview of the content, video presentations of the interviews being delivered to be rated by delegates, discussion of ratings, completion and interpretation of the diagnostic algorithm.
Training will be in the English versions and delegates should attend with one copy of both ACE and ACE+ in English, which are free to download in the resources section at: http://www.psychology-services.uk.com
A Certificate of Attendance will be provided on successful completion of the workshop.
Who should attend?
The training is suitable for all healthcare professionals (including trainees and assistants) who are working with children and adults with ADHD.
